VEHICLE COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM Everel widens its automotive product range, introducing the first vehicle collision warning system, to be fitted into cars, trucks and coaches. How it works? A high frequency radar head (77 GHz) releases a microwave beam in the driving direction, up to a distance of 150 meters. In case any obstacle, either still or moving, appears in this area, the radar calculates at the same time both the distance of the objects in front of the vehicle and their speed. By processing these data with the own vehicle’s speed, the system continuously calculates the danger level, showing it to the driver by means of a display with a three-colour scale from green to yellow to red. When the LED bar lights up to the red area, an acoustic signal starts beeping, calling the driver’s attention. Why is it useful? - In case of fog or poor visibility, radar promptly warns of obstacle or accident presence on the road ahead, of vehicles moving slowly or standing in tunnel
- It helps to keep safety distance, allowing a more relaxed driving
- It prevents driving distractions and drowsiness, helping to avoid accidents.
Fitting Thanks to the small and compact dimensions of its parts, radar, processor unit and display (available also with touch-screen colour display), this system can be easily and quickly fitted into any kind of vehicle by authorized and specialized personnel.
Other functions If you wish to deactivate the acoustic signal, you can easily press a key on the display to silence the acoustic warning, while the LED bar will keep working. When visibility is poor due to fog, it is possible to set the radar safety space higher simply by pressing a key.
